QBIX, Two Years Later: The Fun Factor Case Study
When Arthur Loring began searching for a replacement for an aging laser maze at The Fun Factor in Kamloops, Canada, the goal was clear. He wanted something compact, modern, and easy to operate, without adding staff or complexity.
More importantly, he wanted an attraction that would stay relevant year after year.

That search led him to QBIX, the 6-Player Immersive Gaming Room.
“I was looking for something compact, something modern, something revolutionary, and something that players could start themselves,” Arthur explains. Labor was a major factor, but so was longevity. He wanted confidence that the attraction would not feel outdated after a season or two.
Tip:
Arthur first encountered QBIX as an early prototype at IAAPA 2022, when we first launched it. A year later, he returned and saw a very different product. The improvements were obvious. The games were refined, the system was operational, and real data backed it up. That progression mattered.
“What convinced me was the commitment,” he says. “You could see feedback being taken seriously, and real improvements being made.”
That sense of follow-through was critical. Investing in a digital attraction is not just about the hardware. It is about support, updates, and the confidence that the product will still be relevant years down the line

Guest Experience That Clicks Fast
The Fun Factor is a 9,000-square-foot family entertainment center that has been operating for over 35 years. Every square foot counts. The venue includes laser tag, mini bowling, bumper cars, and a large arcade, serving families, teens, and adults alike.
QBIX fits into that mix without friction.
“Kids and adults caught on quickly,” Arthur says. “Returning guests know they can walk up, swipe their card, and start a game.”
Tip:
That ease of entry turned QBIX into a true attraction rather than a novelty. It became part of the natural flow of a visit, not something that required explanation or staffing to operate smoothly
Reliability and Support Matter
Beyond guest engagement, Arthur points to reliability as a deciding factor in QBIX’s long-term success.
“With new technology, things can come up,” he says. “But whenever we contacted Inowize, they were connected to the system within minutes. That level of support shows commitment. And that’s not easy to maintain.”
For a compact venue where downtime is not an option, that reliability made a real difference. QBIX operated consistently through busy periods without disrupting guest flow or requiring additional staffing.
A Small Footprint With Big Impact
QBIX not only replaced an attraction at The Fun Factor. It replaced a problem.
It delivered a modern, social experience in a compact footprint. It reduced operational strain. And it gave guests something new that felt intuitive and repeatable.
Arthur sums it up simply when asked for final thoughts.
“Buy it.”
